We Just Moved You is a new documentary play about moving in Berlin – from WG Zimmer to WG Zimmer, from relationship to relationship, from studying to working (maybe), from job to job (if you can get your hands on one) – and the families-by-choice we cobble together to help us get through it all. It premiered on April 25th, 2018 as part of English Theatre Berlin | International Performing Arts Center’s 2018 Expat Expo | Immigrant Invasion: A Showcase of Wahlberliner.
This early version of We Just Moved You was written and produced by Alissa Rubinstein and directed by Sylvia Avery with assistance from Shaleah Dawnyel. With dramaturgy and movement direction by Dineke Rieske, production design by Marcella Gersh, and original music by Andrew Fox. The stage manager was Fiona Wiedmann. Performed by Steve Greenfield, Carolin Kipka, Rose Warner Miles, Joseph Raisi-Varzaneh, Yael Rozanes, and Lydia Shoup.
Alissa created and ran an Indiegogo campaign to finance the production.
The show was profiled on Stilbruch: Das Kulturmagazin on rbb Fernsehen, a German TV channel.
