UPDATE: We wanted to stage a reading of Pieces in Berlin in spring 2020, but a global pandemic got in the way. We hope to be able to share this work in some way in the future! For now, check out this excerpt. It’s a monologue written by Alissa based on a story by Marcela.

Pieces is a monologue-based multimedia performance interweaving dance, video, and original music. This 75-minute play explores personal, social, and sexual integration in today’s world. It features Ambika Thompson, Alexis Smith, Steve Green, and Marcela Dias.

Each piece in the show was developed by the performer themselves, under the guidance of head writer Alissa Rubinstein and director Shaleah Dancy.
